Re: Union Pacific RailRoad and Wash Road - Plans for the future.
My concern is that once the fence is in place it will become a huge target for vandals. The RR as we have all learned does not have to allow access via wash road, BLM has no authority to force (even if they wanted to) the RR to allow continued usage. We also know how soft the wash access can get in ...

Re: 2008/2009 Mini Cleanup Dates
A dune trip for this weekend is still undecided. My son is trying to get his '51 Chevy driveable for a RatRod car show on 11/15. That gives us this next week to make that happen. Got the new 350 SBC & auto trans in and finishing up the wiring, cooling and exhaust. That engine was sitting on a stand...

Looks like our St. Anthony plans might change. Unless I can swing spending a full week at the dunes I just can't justify the fuel cost the way it is going.
But if things click just right then a spur of the moment trip might be in order!

But I take more days off to get more bang for the buck. That is probably the best way to curtail your costs... take fewer trips, but make each trip longer. This equates to less miles driven to / from the dunes for the same amount of days spinning paddles. This is exactly what we have been do...
