Get a one inch flapper wheel in a die grinder and make about ten passes on each groove where the ball's ride and on the star with 80 grit and then do it again with 120 grit and this will polish and clearance your CV's.

Looking at the photo's it almost looks like you should move the rack down a little. but it's hard to tell without it in front of me but I fixed one pretty much like yours and the rack was set about an 1 1/2" to high I lowered it and shazzam.

Ok I have checked and have come up with 21 ft/lbs on a type 1 and type 2.

On a 930 joint is 31 ft/lbs

I have never had any noise or problems with my CV's... BUT The bolts that tighten them to drive flanges/stub axles seem to always come loose (like loose after 3 days in dunes), at wheel end. Yes another option we don't charge for, that saying "you get what you pay for" but we made a promise and believe you should get what you paid for and more.
