Look at the plastic screen/filter inside of the tank that is around the fuel petcock. I toasted 3 rebuilds in 3months (2 happened on the dyno at LRD) before I realized it didnt seize with the fuel turned on reserve but did with the fuel just turned on. I live at less tha 200 feet in elevation and ride mostly at the ODNRA at sea level and the last time I took my mildly modded 86 250r there I had to drop down three sizes on my main to make Chokecherry. it ran beautiful after that. didnt have to do anything with the pilot jet. :D

Can they be staightend I bent mine flat up against the engine on a 1985, thought I was out $500, went to the honda shop in Coos Bay OR and they staightend them for $120. I launched it about 15 feet in the air and it came down on its nose, luckly I got off before the landing :D

Spinreel is a very nice campground, its tucked into the woods along a creek at the edge of the dunes. Lots of shelter from the dune winds. They are going to have the 10.23 acres that the Sand Hills Resort is encroaching on appraised, using federal guidelines and then sell it to the owner of Sand Hills resort for the market value price.

lots "o" variables

A higher octane fuel will make a 2stroke run cooler but don't forget that octane changes also require jetting adjustments to get the optimum performance from the vehicle. Just changing octane with out changing jetting is like comparing apples to oranges. My preference for my mildly modified 86 250r ...

Suzuki first came out with Quadracer then honda released the Fourtrax :shock: , then Kawasaki came out with the ymf Tecate (fastest of the 2 stroke quads) you dont see very many Quadracers and Tecates around anymore.....I guess I am trying to say first isnt always best (unless your racing) :)

In Alaska the favorite is a pump 12 gauge modified to hold additional rounds, with alternating rounds of buckshot and shotgun slugs. Gets the attention of grizzly bears and might even annoy them enough for them to leave. Ought to work as well with some of the criminal element!

Isnt that body of water to the left before the campground and parking lots a bay? I have walked to the most southerly point on the beach and it appeared to me that the ocean was connected..maybe it was just high tide.

Be sure to check out the one way trail at the north end of Sand lake, Head down Derrick road and go all the way to the northeast corner.
