Re: Living in St. Anthony? Idaho in General?
New....Hmm. The Camp ground was expanded 2 years ago. It offers a few more spots, and upgraded the existing spots. Since the turn of the economy, I haven't seen the campground completely full, even on a Holiday weekend. They paved half of the day use parking area, and repaved the main road in. There...

Re: Living in St. Anthony? Idaho in General?
When Scott first moved here, he took a year off and didn't work. He's since gone back to work, and has also discovered some of the other things to do in Idaho. He and his wife spend a lot of time on two wheelers, so he hasn't been out to the dunes. I haven't spoken with him in about a year. I miss r...

The site's still up, so I assume they're still doing business. Good luck.

Re: Living in St. Anthony? Idaho in General?
We're still here and doing our thing. The dunes are uncharacteristically soft this year. The winds blew in akward directions, making for alot more areas with sharp, soft, blow over. Unlike Dumont, there are still rolls at the top, but transitioning from one dune to another on the quads sometimes wan...

St. Anthony's RAMP
Just a quck note to those who like to come to St. Anthony's and would like to see the BLM campground enlarged. The BLM RAMP has set aside some money for the purpose of adding approximately 20 campsites with electricity to the BLM campground at Egins, as well as pave the day use area. However, number...

3 things to consider. :? How much will the car ultimately weigh? What size tires are you planning on running? Will you get this car airborne? The torque of a V8 is what will cause the demise of this trans...Big tires will speed up the process... Make sure the ring and pinion are tire size appropriat...

Contrary to what most think of Idaho, I'm in a community with CC&Rs, and I doubt my neighbors would be too fond of me opening a campground. :? When you say 15 - 20 people, how many rigs are you talking, and what type. Can you do a little off road camping? Meaning, can you dry camp, and get your rigs down a washboard sand/dirt road? I know a little "local" spot. Other than that, I'd say go to Oasis, and see for yourself if it's as bad as th...

I wouldn't bother making the drive up until at least the middle of April. From Nov. 1st through April 1st, half (the better half) of the dunes are closed for Elk migration.
