The dunes were GREAT today! Nice temps and drove the buggy in shorts & T-shirt. Had virgin dunes and was the only car out there at Buttercup! Great lines and no worry about others being in the way!

Then the storm hit at dark. Little rain but a lot of wind. Which means even smoother dunes tomorrow!!!

April 13th weekend....

Anybody going and want to camp together?

I have a Funco, wife has a mini-buggy, and I have a quad as well.

We enjoy medium to fast rides, including night rides.

I have no problem leading or following.

We are a family oriented camp (although we don't have kids).

They need to put up a few of these signs on Sidewinder Rd. (the road into Ogilby Tower).

OHV's paddle tires really tear up the roadways meant for RV access causing increased maintenance costs.

The BLM could build an acess road around the private property at Ogilby Tower.....


I think us Ogilby Tower users should get together with a couple of tractors & dump trails one summer weekend and fix the bad section ourselves....just wish I had a tractor as I have the time...

This is a sand dune only buggy.... I have my Can Am Outlander 4X4 quad and a Jeep Rubicon for Az mountain adventures....Our sand buggies and my turbo DS650 are dune quads only. Probably saw it before at the dunes. I got used, from the 3rd owner, as I can't afford a new Funco. It is well maintained and in great shape. It should last me the rest of my duning life.....

We park northwest of the Cul-de-sac about 20 yards from the pavement but not under the power lines.

Trash Service: Imperial County has provided $125,000 from in-lieu tax dollars to cover the cost of trash service in the dunes for the remainder of the 2008/09 season. The contract is between Imperial County and Allied Waste. BLM is looking for alternative ways to pay for trash service in the future...
