Re: We Are Saddened to Report

Roy, rest in peace and my condolences to his entire family and all his friends. I first met Roy back in 1999 when the BLM formed the original TRT. Roy was part of that committee as was I. I learned to respect his opinions and I also respected his drive and stamina when he formed ORBA. He will be mis...

Re: So now I know... Do you?

I spoke to CHP and they inform me that if you have a draw bar (used to tie 2 commercial trailers together) or a tow bar (used to tow a vehicle) the chain, cable etc. must be secured to the draw bar or the tow bar to prevent it from falling to the ground. Also pay close attention to the length of you...

Re: So now I know... Do you?

In our case, they are refering to a Tow bar such as would be used to tow a car with 4 tires on the ground however, Traffic wasn't my specialty prior to retirement so, I have a call into CHP and will post an answer as soon as I speak to a Commercial enforcement officer.

Thanks for the replies,,, Personally, I like oversteer, gas pedal, a hard turn in and the back starts to drift. Re: Tire comparison and suggestions

I'm already maxed out at 5.5" backspaced rims. If I could get a deeper backspace then my tire would touch my coil over spring. I measured my friends 14" Douglas #15574 (5.5"") bakcspace wheels. The problem is on the outer side of the rim/tire. If I use 14.50 x 15 tires and a 14" wheel, I exceed my t...

You also want to be aware of subsection c of the same law which reads: (c) No more slack may be left in a safety chain, cable, or equivalent device than is necessary to permit proper turning.
