Tranny Temp Guage for Class C

We have a Class C, based on a 1999 Chevy 3500 with 90,000 miles on it. I just had the 90k service, including the tranny. We are going to Idaho in late July. I am thinking it would be a good idea to monitor the tranny temp. How hard is it to add one myself? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Perry
