Re: Best way to change a VW belt
That doesn't work when the belt is properly tight or even close. It has to be real loose for that. Why am I afraid you just went out to the garage, tossed together a VW motor out of parts in a few dusty old milk-crates, and gave it a test just to confirm :D Oh wait....I know you better than that. So far, I've never had a problem with a leo at the dunes. I've never even had them come into my camp while I was there. I've had friends in camp shooting off sobe bombs and illegal fireworks, still no leos came to our camp. I've even had BLM officers help me on a few occasions. Until last Friday th...

I have one question though, Where was the cop in your group? Why didn't he show his golden broach (badge) and smooze things over? Like the rest of camp he was too shocked at what he was witnessing to say anything. He also had a nasty spill on his quad before I got there and threw his back out so he...

I know at Gordon's well the issue is more that if you leave camp after 10 the chances of being pulled over seem to go up astronomically just because you're now an easy target. Even the crowd around our campfire was next to nothing Saturday night due to the ICSO's behavior in our camp on Friday. I'm ...

I find the estimate of 160k visitors very hard to believe based on what I saw at Buttercup and Gordon's. The crowds in the south were the smallest I've ever seen on a holiday weekend, let alone Thanksgiving. I've seen dune buggy flats more crowded on off weekends than what I saw this past weekend. B...

You could try a polyurethane adhesive like "Gorilla Glue" in the holes. Since it expands as it sets it usually works fairly well for that kind of situation. You know, a truck with a big flatbed. Pull on by the beach store, it crosses the tracks and lets you off on the other side. Do the reverse to get back.
Wonder what kind of crazy permits/insurance you'd need to do it....
