Picked up a Raptor 700...

Post by YFZ Bob »

Just picked up my first Raptor 700. Haven't rode it yet in the dirt/sand, neighbors are fed up with me running up and down the street, but let me tell you... It's a completely different bike!! It's notorious top heavy feeling is gone, In the handling department, the Raptor feels like a larger version of the YFZ. Yamaha has taken the suspension of the YFZ-450 and applied that to the Raptor. The motor has a nice across the broad power band. The Pee-Shooter muffler will need to go though as well as the intake. Mechanic I talked to said the ECM/FI will compensate for bolt-on upgrades. Internal engine mods you will need to remap the ECM. Heading to Pismo in a week. I'll let you know how it handles!

BTW: I still have my Banshee and YFZ... So I get to keep my name.

my old man is looking to get one, he's gonna sit on it for a while and wait to see if any issues come up, then out with the old raptor and in with the new. 8)

Hey Raptor-Bob, you'll have to let us know how it compares to the YFZ in both power and handling.

Congrats on the new quad. Please keep us posted as to how she runs, handles, etc.
If "pro" means yes, and "con" means no, is Congress the opposite of Progress?
