2strokes

Post by jonathanfromquebec »

I'm looking for a low buck 2 strokes 4 wheeler (around 1500$) to run around sand pits a few times a year. I miss my atc250r. I don't need an extraordinary machine. I'm over 200 pounds.

honda are too expensive and it's hard to find a banshee under 2k.
what do you think of
-quadracer 250
-blaster
-mojave (I don't know much this one, is it 2 strokes)
other I haven't tought

thanks
Jo

In my opinion, the bikes you've listed [like Blaster] are too small for a guy over 200 lbs. Heck, a 250R is marginal for me, and I'm under 200lbs.

I knew for the blaster, but for the quadracer? I'm going to buy a raptor next summer, but I can't wait to get a bike and I miss the 2strokes feeling... for a few times a year, will the quadracer be ok ?

Wait it out for a banshee or 250 honda. I have picked up my banshee running for $1500 here in phoenix on Craigslist. I saw two more on this week for 1900.

Be patient and you can find one.

I would pass on the others.
1987 Drag Banshee.

2004 400ex for the girlfriend.

Looking for a Baja Bug or something similar.

The Mojave (Kawasaki) is a liquid-cooled 4 stroke. Also, pretty smallish machine for your size.

The Zuki 500 hauls some serious butt! Hard to kick start, can almost ride it like a thumper as it has a lot of torque, hits some serious revs, very fast!

Down sides---got to get the '89 model or you can have cylinder problems, frame isn't the strongest, brakes aren't real super, it's BIG and kinda heavy.

I've ridden them and liked them but kept my 250R.

Compared to a Shee, harder to find parts, can go anywhere a Shee can go, is about as fast if not a bit faster (I talking stock from factory and no modifications, but where you gonna find that in either of them?). It's wider and longer and heavier.

I use my friends 2000 Mojave a lot. I weigh 275. He weighs 175. He can take it anywhere I could barely get it up Olds. (back when I could ride that was) I liked my Warrior much better, but I love my 86 Honda 250R. :D
Another thing about the Mojave my friend has had more electrical problems with it than I can count.

Jo, you could ask for one more... one more wheel that is! I mean, trx250R
When I was looking for my bike, I actually wanted an atc250R. I looked and looked and looked and the first resonably priced / local bike I could find was a trx250R.

...and I havn't looked back since! 8)
