So I was Shocked by the New Honda 700.

Post by Ross & Alice »

My Honda Dealer was heading out to the dealer show earlier this week.

He mentioned that around 9 AM Thurs, the Honda website will feature the new 2008/2009 models.

The New Honda 700 quad is cool, but 505 lbs is really brutal for a sport quad.
The rear indy suspention should be nice with locking differential.
If it's a real steamer, and has an excellent ride with suspention made in heaven,, it might find a market.
A unique market.

We believe most buy the Kawai KFX for the nice ride and auto tranny. If the KFX was a manual shift, it's market would be pretty slim.

So he came back from the Honda dealer show Fri,, and seemed worried and was really talking the new line up.
I think the Honda 700, and their new S X S went over like a bowling ball through a Crystal shop.

I'm sold to honda since always. I can't wait to try this trx700xx. for sure the weight is high, but it includes all fluids, even the fuel tank full. shouldn't be that bad. and I think it's more a ''sporty trail atv'' than a ''sport atv''
As I said, I can't wait to try it !!!

Poor alyshka!
He was wiating forever for Honda to finally release something bigger than their 450R, something to 'answer' the Raptor, KFX, etc.
Less than two months ago, he broke down and bought a Raptor. And now, Honda anwers!

Not saying he does love that Raptor, but I know he wanted a Honda.

Yeah, haven't ruled it out.
We'll try it.
Dealer said it's a steamer stock, and will also offer a factory power up kit.

But I remember him telling me the trx 400 was a Raptor beater some years back.

I asked him:
"Well, did ya ride it?" (the 700)
"Ahhhhh no",, was the answer. "They wouldn't let us."

If it has lots of power, a good ride and isn't tipsy like the Raptor we'll consider it.
The 450s are just too much fun to ride.

Its surprising to see honda go so radical in the rear suspension. I understand wanting the quad to be different from competition but this is pretty far fetched.

I would still take the Raptor over this for my riding.

Curious on how it will do with the independent rear suspension in the desert.

But i would hate for this quad to land on me.
