Leaking Bowl gasket

I found a leaking bowl gasket my 05 KFX 700. It has been sitting for a while and I guess it just dried up??? Any sugestions on to patch it for one trip and not pay $75 for the whole kit that, right now I only need one gasket out of?

Maybe a little RTV gasket sealer would stop if for a while???

Buy a sheet of gasket material and use an x-acto knife to cut one out.

For a quick fix I'd go down to Napa, Autozone, whatever, and pick up a tube of gasket seal. Take the bowl off, apply the gasket seal, put the bowl back on, and go riding. Then when you have time and money, buy a complete rebuild kit for the carb and do it right.

Realizing you saved $70 to lean out your engine and blow it up when the gasket seal comes loose and plugs your jets...........Priceless

Save yourself a big headache and look and the big picture Jon, I would just shell out the $75 and get the kit, it will probably be cheaper in the long run

Don't know where Chuck found it, but here is a website that has a blow up of all of the parts for your carb. On here it says that the o-ring will run you $20.44. Good luck with the repairs Jon =D>

I got ya beat. I found it for $8 at John Burr but it would take a week to order it. That would have gotten here the day I came back from Glamis. By the time I read your post George it was put back together with a tiny bit of gas resistant Permitex gasket stuff. I know the quickest I ever got to a project, might lead to it blowing up.
So now its an experiment. [-o< [-o<

The thing about permitex #2 is it stays pliable for years. It doesn't dry out unless exposed to air. It can fill in the gaps when exposed to gasoline as long as the gap is on the small size. Will it come off in chunks and clog a jet? I'd have to be there, doing the job............

Ran like a champ never leaked. Good to go all trip and best part good to loading it in the trailer.
As long as you don't have to push it on the trailer it was a good trip right?
