Transporting ATV

Post by DunaticSuzyQ » Mon Nov 15, 2010 9:19 pm

Does anyone transport their 4 stroke ATV upright on its rear end? We transport our 2 strokes this way, but am not sure if it is ok with a 4 stroke - specifically a YFZ450. Thanks for any insights. See you you at the dunes!

I used to do that with my Honda 250R quads, and never had a problem.

Obviously you'd just want to make sure the gas tanks aren't full to avoid any spillage.

You also want to make sure the carb is drained as it will leak and could leak raw gas into your air filter which may disolve some of the filter oil. You also need to let it sit on all 4's for a little while before starting it to make sure the oil is back where it needs to be.
