DS650 Baja Lights

Post by Sandaholic »

I just got a Bombardier DS650 Baja and have some questions about the lights. Bombardier brags that their stator puts on 290 watts stock. With such a high output, why is the main headlight using a 55/60w bulb and the 2 side lights are only 35w each? I heard someone mention voltage regulator issues, what are this issues I need to address? I would like to go HID but the price is prohibited. Can a simple switch to higher output bulbs increase my available lighting?

I had my stater rewound to 400 watts, but I'm running fuel injection (100 watts) on my DS650 with my turbo system, plus I have 6 35 watt HID lights, a hemlmet mounted 30 watt HID light, tail light, gauge lights, and LED whip light. My system is maxed out. I also run an Odessy battery and charge it for several hours before a night run. I plan on changing my handlebar HID lights to LED lights, saving me some watts. I'll probably change out my tail light & gauge light to LED as well...
(The above statement is my own opinion and not that of the ASA's.)
