Sand Sports Super Show volunteers needed Sept. 16th Saturday

Post by dunefever »

Once again volunteers are needed for the 2006 Sand Sports Super Show (SSSS). 8)

Saturday show hours are: 9:00 am to 7:00 pm
The ASA will need the following volunteers per 2 hour shifts.

We have 4 areas in which we need volunteers.
1. Membership - With clipboards in hand, sign up new members and Inform them about the ASA. (8 needed)

2. Merchandise & 2007 Calendars - With our own product line, help raise the needed funds for the ASA. (8 needed)

3. Checkered Flags - Sell or consign them flags to get the word out. (2 needed)

4. Giveaway Tickets - Work in a sit down job where the people come to you to sign up and receive their tickets. (3 needed)

Shift times:
D. 8:00 am - 10:00 am (1st hour Set up)
E. 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
F. 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
G. 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
H. 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
J. 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm (last hour Tear down)

Please send an email to:
SSSSVolunteers@americansandassociation.org

Please include your name, address, area of choice (1-4) and shift time ( D, - J )
I will add your name to the shift and area you choose below. You will receive your detailed instructions by email on your area of choice. If you don't list an area, we will place you where most needed.

This is very easy and fun. The 2 hours will fly by and kids are welcome to volunteer also.
Thanks everyone, Katherine :P

As long as I'm not the only poor sap in the booth, put me down for anything during the 8-10 shift.

Memebrship is my prefference, but I'll do whatever is needed.

Flo,
On Aug01, I sent an e-mail to SSSSVolunteers@americansandassociation.org stating that I would like to sign up for shifts D&E, in Area 4 on Sa:Sep16.
I also asked how I can get into the grounds before the public gates are opened.
I have not see my name added in this thread, nor have I received a reply to the e-mail.
Does Brian still need helpers?

And...
You'll never know if you sold the winner...

I TOLD the guy he just bought the winner. I told him when he bought it!

I felt the vibe...

Maybe I'll feel the vibe Saturday, maybe I wont...

The vibe is real, however, you must tune in to it!

"Vibe"?

At the Ontario show. This guy in a blue shirt bought a ticket. I took his money, put it in the cash box, turned around just in time to see a bright green light surround him, lift him up and carry him accross the way to the enclosed stacker trailer. The guy in the blue shirt, came back over with the trailer rep, measured the Tatum car and walked back to the trailer booth. 15 minutes later the man in the blue shirt came over and showed me a pamphlet and pointed out a trailer he bought. He said he really doesn't need it because he only has one quad, but he felt so sure I sold him the winning ticket he was forced to buy a trailer that very minute. So at the SSSS when a man in the blue shirt steps up to claim the Tatum. I'll know I sold him the ticket. I think he said he lives in Riverside too

Thanks Steve, I'd much rather sit next to Cathy than you.

As for winning the rail, I'll give ya "Vibe"!
I'll be there on Sunday, wearing my Blue Shirt and winning that rail. But, I didn't buy my 4 tickets from any Obsessed or SloppyDuner... no, they were mail ordered! 8)
But, I'm still ALL ABOUT the vibe!

Flo,
Don't cry!
A little bird told me the other day that the above list may not reflect the actual volunteers... If this is the case, you may have some mdse help and not see it here. :?

I have 4 people who have emailed me stating that they will be there all 3 days to help but did not give me exact times. I have not put them on the schedule yet because they will fill in when ever and where ever through out the show over the 3 days. They are Mary and John Gagel, Sue Davies and Eric. I also have my kids and kids friends coming to help, they just have not given me exact times yet. If your birdie has names and times please have them let me know. It is kind of scarry :? looking at the lack of people so far.

Its selling the Checkered Flags and providing information on the Checker Flag Pledge.

If you go to work Checker Flags you can pretty much sell any of the merchandise, not just the flags.

If the kids aren't too young, they can probably help sell. If they're cute, they'll draw a crowd. People just love cute kids. :D

It is not just selling the flags but also consigning them. I carry some in the motorhome for our club members that need them or others I speak with while at the dunes.

I'll ask one more time. Is there a way to buy our tickets and get in early Sat morning to work the 1st shift? We will only be there Sat. In the past we always had our passes, so coming and going was not much of a problem, except when we got locked in and couldn't get out of the grounds. If there is a procedure or place for volunteers to pay and enter, please advise; otherwise, we'll show up at the regular opening time and work some other time.
We weren't sure we would be in town this weekend; that is why we are kind of last minute with volunteering.

We made it in and had fun at the ASA booth this morning; a lot of the crew appeared as though they worked all day; what devotion 8) saw a number of old friends there; some young uns also  Once again, I must say, we are glad to be associated with such a fine group of genuine enthusiasts.
