Good info =D> I haven't been there since the early 70's with my Parents :( I want to take the my Wife & the Kids there at least once to see it  . How is it for trucks w/trailers finding a spot without getting stuck :?: We put BFG All Terrains on the F250SD so we could airdown more safely, but it's still not a sand machine by any means with the Toyhauler hooked up :| .

Thanks for the tips :)

Astro, you should be fine pulling a toyhauler on the beach, hundreds do it every weekend. Just follow the air down and driving tips. Off weekends, especially in the non-summer months are much more enjoyable due to the lack of crowds. Oct 1 to Feb 28 is prime season due to the bigger camping area.

And by the way, go soon, I dont know how much longer it will be open.

Have fun.

Great Pic's and Very Good Info for those that have never been to Pismo. I am one of the Lucky ones in a way that I have been doing this long enough to have experienced The Devils Slide before they started closing areas. I also remember riding my 3-Wheeler up to Pier Ave for Ice Cream or Clam Chowder Bowls. Ahh the Good 'ole Days.

Now for my Pet Peeve and Rant - I firmly believe that the Greenies are better organized than those of us who off road. I believe this from what I have seen in my years of off roading and watching protests over off roading. To the Greenies it doesn't matter if the issue is the snowy plover or the spotted owl, the Greenies ALL come together to rally around and protest as a LARGE group. Yet we as Off Roaders only come together in our own LITTLE groups like Pismo or Glamis or St Anthony. Or even worse we stay in our Buggy or Quad or Dirt Bike group. We need to get better organized and have a BIG group that fights as one. Maybe this will save a few laywer fees along the way as well. Do we yet have such a group? It is difficult to try to keep up with who wants me to write a letter to who or who wants me to show up for a State hearing in the Capital to give my opinion. What Capitol? What State? Who was that I got the info from? Sorry I'm getting old and just can't get it straight.

Thank you for letting me rant and I will be sending my membership and donation to Friends of Oceano (Pismo to me) Dunes. Hope I can get all these straight.
