California Proposes Closing Pismo Beach

Post by Mean Green »

As per Quad Magazine. Pismo is more than 200 State Parks that are being proposed for closure. I don't ride here but it is definately not good news for those that do.

"Pismo State Beach" is different than "Oceano Dunes State Recreational Vehicle" park.

It seems that they have already pulled the article off their website.

Howdy all. Oceano Dunes IS NOT on the closure list. It is one of the few revenue generating parks in the state with collected fees, grants and fuel tax money... This rumor was not true but there are many others lurking that want just that... Actually for now this might get us and the greenies on the same side to keep the parks open.

I would think any popular OHV area would be a substantial boost to the economy of the surrounding area, especially if they cater to OHV. I know Brawley and El Centro get a good boost during the season.
