It is my belief, that you are not thinking about the dunes right now.
You could care less about Glamis, the ISDRA, or where you going to camp on your next 'Real' trip to Glamis...

Is it true?

Vacation, work, too hot, the river, what's your excuse? Why are you not here? :?

I'd be at Glamis this weekend if it wasn't a hundred #$$%^& something degrees...

So, what is your deal anyway?

Personally, I feel like Orange County is a big Rat Trap, and all I smell is cheese. I can't see it, so I am trapped. I want out, but there is no way out...
UNTIL Next October!

Steve
I ain't gonna make it...

I was stuck in The OC for awhile. Never again. We need electricians in San Diego too. Plus we're closer to mother G. Think about it.

Too hot? That's why you have two A/C's on the new resort on wheels you're sporting. Come on.

I may actually head out to Plaster City for a night race this weekend. Any takers...???

I assume that I am the "RX" that you are referring to. There is no such thing as a "worst" when it comes to a trip to Mother G. It probably was not the best, but we got to do a little clean up and a little duning. HOW BAD COULD IT BE!!! :D :D  8)

We will have to go for a "real" ride sometime. It seemed like we were just gettinig started when Mr Mendeola decided to interrupt our fun. It is fixed now and ready to run. It was just part of the experience. 8) 8)

So what do you mean 'real' trip?

I go to Glamis every night,

In the dream I'm like a kite,

Hovering here, there in flight.

I am over The Wall tonight…

Out of Control man, crazies do bite!

She says STOP, so, I might.

My rider is filled with such fright;

Again she says Stop, NO, not quite;

LOOK, The dunes are such a delight!

Such a glorious wondrous sight!

Thank the duning gods, no Red Lights!

Whoo-Ya! We’re Duning to the Wall at night…

It’s the middle of my dream, it becomes so bright!

With these words; do thee understand my plight?

It's way past crazy man, insane, insane heights!

The more I fight it, the more is the fight

It’s almost morning, so it’s the end of the night…

I start to awake, was that a real flight?

I feel my sanity I must be reunite…

Here, I lie awake, to realize, stuck in OC is my plight.

Think about Glamis? Nah, we didn't just think about it, we went out last weekend ... and it was awesome!

There were one or two RVs on each pad on Gecko Road and three or four on the Gecko campground loop. For once, there were none at Roadrunner.

The sand was ABSOLUTELY smooth. I went on a ride Sat morning, another Sat evening, and a short ride Sunday morning. All together I put 64 miles on the GPS odometer.

Never duned in temps above about 93 degrees. When it got hot there was also no contrast on the sand making it hard to see well. The peak temperature was 98 Sat and it was 100 when we left Sunday afternoon at 5 PM (we stuck around to watch the NHRA drag races on TV 8)

I'd be at Glamis this weekend if it wasn't a hundred #$$%^& something degrees...

So, what is your deal anyway?
Well, here's my deal...

I have TWO unreal dune trips each week, Mondays & Fridays. They last about 3 minutes as I drive through on I-8. There are a lot of razors on those dunes that I have to watch out for as I mentally dune from the seat of my F-150. I know you do it too. Admit it.

Yeah, I am thinking about the ISDRA, especially today during my phone conversation with Jerry (Seaver) about the upcoming TRT meeting in San Diego (Friday, July 13th, watch for an announcement & agenda soon).

Anywho, Jerry reminds me that the TRT Public Safety Committee (of which I'm chair #-o ) hasn't met since January. What a coincidence. That's when I started my new, keep me busy during all waking hours, away from home during the week, propelling me from semi-retirement and putting money in the bank instead of it all going out, job. :-k Looks like a conference call may be in order before the TRT meeting. :-^

Now, about the "hundred #$$%^ & something degrees..." at the dunes.

Its a hundred #$$%^ & something degrees at home in Yuma on the weekends AND at work in Palm Desert/Palm Springs during the week. I know its a hundred #$$%^ & something degrees because it says that on the thermometer. For the record, it doesn't say a hundred & something degrees, it really says a hundred #$$%^ & something degrees. :-s You know its pretty danged HOT when the thermometer starts swearing :!:

OK, so what's my deal about not going to the dunes for a Real trip then?

Got me.

Hey Woodglue, put me down as an absolute definite maybe for the **July 2007 Night Ride Trip**. I can't miss 2 in a row, can I?
