New Dune Toy...can't wait for dune season...

I just got home from picking up my newest dune toy...

A Funco Gen 3!!!! =D> =D> =D>

Now I can't wait for dune season....

The only sad part is I have to sell my other dunetoys to pay for this....but as I get older, the pain from old injuries get worse and I can't ride my quads as much or as hard...."with age comes the cage"

With the Funco, I should be able to ride all day and not hurt!!!

Probably saw it before at the dunes. I got used, from the 3rd owner, as I can't afford a new Funco. It is well maintained and in great shape. It should last me the rest of my duning life.....

Yeah, that's what I meant. Just wondering if I knew/know one of the previous owners because it looks VERY familiar. Not just a "Saw it drive past in the dunes" familiar but more of a "someone I know had that car" familiar. But I can't place why it seems that familiar.

Nice buggy. No need to wait, though. Make a run up.to the cinders. There are also plenty of places to go up on the rim and other places with some elevation. We just made a run from Bumble Bee to Prescott and back. About 140 miles round trip through the Bradshaws, with a stop for lunch in Prescott. Great fun. I think the next trip will be from Roosevelt up to around Willow Springs Lake. Probably stay over near Willow Springs and make a 2 day trip out of it.

Still plenty to do in the summer...

This is a sand dune only buggy....


I have my Can Am Outlander 4X4 quad and a Jeep Rubicon for Az mountain adventures....Our sand buggies and my turbo DS650 are dune quads only.

I stopped going to the Cinders back in the mid 90s...too whooped out and dusty...The Cinders are nice in July/August after an afternoon rain and back in the late 80s and early 90s there were little whoops....Used to go there every summer holiday for 7 years....

I checked and the only full moon Saturday is June 26th this summer and I can't make as I'm going to a conference that weekend....

I still enjoy the cinders. Lots of places to go from there, and so whooped out if you stay in the right places. I like the atmosphere better than the dunes. Much more relaxed. It's also a great place to base trips to places like Grand Falls.

My buggy is fairly deserty, which I guess makes a difference. I still say they're more fun than the quads, at least on the bigger trails, and a lot more comfortable to drive on any roads you might need to traverse to get to where the fun starts, but I guess it's not such a big deal for a motor rider...

Know what you mean about a sand only car. I have one of those. Just picked up a 1966 VW pan for $100.00. Going to use the title for a dirt car/street legal/Chenworth car. Just a few more pieces to complete the puzzle. Going to explore the rest of the open desert while I still can, with camping abilities and a 300 mile range. All components, made in USA/German. Type 4 Porsche motor with 091 built tranny, mid-travel car. Looking for CNC ft. Disc brakes and and pair of bump shocks............
Then I will have everything I need for a three season dirt car for exploration of the rest of Nevada wilds and beyond.....

Can't go wrong with a Funco.
