Ensuring access to dune areas for future generations in the decades to come is the foundation of the ASA. The ASA strives to accomplish this objective through education. To extend this “service” of instilling environmental awareness in our members and the public, we will publish a series of Press Releases to focus upon safety issues, rider responsibility, and steward-like acts associated with motorized sand recreation.

The purpose is to Inform users of the dunes rules, laws, safety concerns and environmental issues. Each Release would have a ‘simple’ message like 'Riding with kids? Know the law!', 'Gear Up Before you Ride!' or 'Recreate with Respect!'.

The Press Release Committee has a brief list of such Releases that we can compose, but I would like to source the BBS (i.e you) in pursuit of any good Ideas.

So, if you have an idea for a simple message that extends the ASA's 'Service' to the Dune Community, please let us know.

The first to respond with an Idea that the Committee uses can be quoted in our Pre-Halloween Press Release in a discussion about dumpster use in the ISDRA.

Thanks,
-Mike.

I stopped by the BLM booth and asked an officer how much the likeyhood of getting a ticket for horseshoes steaks is. They looked at me funny like WTF are are you talking about? I told them about the rumors of getting ticketed for what we all have read. They kinda laughed and said VERY UNLIKELY!!

So Woody how about a press release encouraging dune users communicate directly with the BLM to get answers. The BLM has ALWAYS been avail to me to get answers from. Its WAY more assuring to me hearing right from them instead of hearing from someone who read something then heard on another site that they said we'd get the death penalty, your dog will be taken away, put in a Muslim family and renamed Obama, if they are on a leash longer than 6 feet... For example #-o

A lot of people dont know about running generators. There is a quiet time from 10pm to 7am. I have been in situations where people want to run them all night. It's annoying to hear a generator even during non quiet time.

We will build a "Service" related Press Release based upon the comments taken here:
Respect Your (Camping) Neighbors
A lot of people dont know about running generators. There is a quiet time from 10pm to 7am. I have been in situations where people want to run them all night. It's annoying to hear a generator even during non quiet time.
In addition, I'm thinking of fireworks laws, speed laws, firearms laws, etc.

Now, the Committee would like to feature you in our Pre-Season Press Release which is to be published to the media prior to the Halloween Weekend.
Check your PM!

What other ideas can we get here guys???
