Officer Down. RIP Office Chris Wilson!!

On Wednesday night / Thursday morning, the law enforcement family lost an outstanding officer in the line of duty. Officer Wilson was murdered trying to protect a community he loved.

The team I work on often works in the same neighborhood doing the same type of details officer Wilson was doing...trying to find bad guys and put them back in jail where they won't hurt innocent people anymore...this has hit close to home!

If you see an officer, verbally express your condolences or just say "Thanks"...a little appreciation goes a long way with most officers.

When I heard it was an officer doing what GB does in San Diego I got a huge lump in my throat. When they said the officers name it made it better, but then it hit me that GB COULD no longer be with us in an instant, the same with anybody in his line of work made me think how much it sucks that we don't thank these people enough. Why people who play with balls get millions of dollars a year and people who get guns pointed at them make so much less is beyond me. It doesn't seem right.

This kind of thing just rips my heart out. As the son of a retired cop there were many a night my mother cried her eyes out wondering if her man would get home. Probably one of the reasons I did not pursue my fathers career. GB knows how I feel about him and everyone in law enforcement. I know GB doesnt take risks and I'm sure Officer Wilson didnt either but somehow stuff happens. GB be safe brother and condolences to the Wilson family. The funeral is tomorrow.

My entire team is getting ready for the services tomorrow...it's been a very sad week.

This one has hit harder than others for many of us.

I listened to radio traffic of the incident yesterday...over and over as a matter of fact. It's heart wrenching when you know what's about to happen and you want to scream through the microphone and stopped them.

But hence it can never be reversed. Best that can come out of this is that all law enforcement officers learn something from this that hopefully saves a life down the road. That is my pledge to Officer Wilson.
