This mine had a fence around the hole. I would hold a rock over the hole and let go..........

We never heard the rock/s hit bottom.

I have sympathy for his love one's.

This is a pic of Jersey Valley and if you look close you can see the geothermal well operation below. If I had the same consideration for posting pic's like I did when I first started posting , I could post this pic in all it's glory......

If it's too dangerous for a rescue, it's certainly too dangerous for a recovery.

Certainly makes sense of course. I think the family was resolved with non recovery not to mention it cuts down on the funeral expenses.

That's what I was thinking, and his geo therm pic post had nothing to do with the mine non rescue story. Bizarre............

For those who can't read, the man fell into an abandoned mine in the Murghy's Mine Complex in the Jersey Valley.

The man who died, worked at the Geothermal well site in the Jersey Valley.

I was only attempting to add a bit of perspective to the thread.

I worked at that geothermal site last summer.................

I had happy customers at that work site. I can only hope that the person at that geothermal work site who died was not one of my customers.

Either way, I feel for his family.

The shaft was not a vertical shaft but was angled and the man fell in a rolling fashion to his fate. Like losing your balance on a steep slope.

Because I believe in open dunes and free speech. I have real issues with favorites and " I'm your buddy so you can have more leeway with your posts".

If I had the same consideration for posting pic's like I did when I first started posting , I could post this pic in all it's glory......

I don't know what "change" you're upset about. But I can assure you there has been no such thing.

Point 1) The software for the BBS has no provision for limiting an individual users photo posting abilities. It's all or nothing - affects everyone if we make any changes.

Point 2) Nothing has been changed in a LONG time on the board.

Most likely you had been posting in the gallery and linking images from there but are now uploading as attachments as the two methods of posting have different limits due to the way they work internally. Or you had been self-hosting and linking images. I really don't know what you were doing before so I can't say for sure but if anything has changed as the person who installed and configured the BBS software the ASA uses I can assure you any changes are on your end and not on the BBS and not a limit imposed on you and you alone.

Disbelieve it if you wish, but it's the truth.
