Sometimes I can't sleep...

Post by SANDUNERS »

Like last night... :x

I work on the ASA database daily, making it the best it can be. I verify each and EVER address with the USPS website and list the Zip+4 into the database. Since the database was first created by hand many typo errors are still in there and I still find duplicate memberships that I delete. I try to the best of my ability to find each member listed and correct their information to keep them INFORMED. :D

I usually call those members on the weekends that have something wrong with their addresses and just won't verify. I called a newer member Todd in Michigan last weekend but never got a message machine to leave a message. Guess who used his Called ID at 2:55AM... Yes it was Todd and I was able (don't know how) to remember the problem with his address... North or South... He apoligized for calling so early (6:00am there) he was on vacation and thought it might be important... so we now have another verified member in the database... :P but one sleepy volunteer today...

Excellent segway Kev!

Yes Folks.. You too can do this by Clicking Here. It will take to the ASA Home Page. All you need to do is log in and then click on My Membership.

Yes, thank you. I only have about 10,000 more to verify...

If you live anywhere but in CA you should find your Zip+4 added to your information. It is really cool seeing all the different email addresses too. So many have some dune reference in them... 8)

While you at it, please add your family members. The BLM counts them so should you... :P

Updated mine too.

Sure would make it easier if we didn't have to log into another app with separate login/password.

A lot of people won't take the time to update info if their login attemp fails.....

If you have merged your accounts you can use the same log in for the ASA Home page AND the ASA BBS. :D

Helps those memory cells.

Yes once you merge your accounts you can use your BBS username/password for anything (since you get to choose your BBS name it should be easier for people to remember.)

But don't count on it for too much longer :( There are things happening (that I'm trying to fight but they're being done behind my back) that will undo a lot of that and even require a THIRD username/password for some things!

That is NOT a solution. If the ASA wants people to freely visit/learn/donate/volunteer, make it easy.

After a weekend like the past,,, it is SO much easier to work doing ASA stuff. Those dunes at Dumont were the BEST all season... 8)

Thanks Jon for updating, one less to do now. :D
And Lloyd, I'm just trying to measure up to Mr. Mason,,, the hardest worker in the ASA... :P

Just doing a little bit each day, gets it closer to complete.
Have you done a little today???
