None of us know how to post pics on these boards. All I can tell you is the dunes aren't green and they aren't bigger in Texas, but, we love them anyway. When it rains the frogs do visit us.

And thank you Guy, we knew Texas could count on you

So the next event that will be scheduled for our dunes will be a poker run. Anyone have any ideas on how that would work?

Kristal-
Welcome to the board!
Jim Colln (sanduners) organized a Poker Run last year to benefit the ASA with his off-road group, the "R & R Duners". They did a GREAT job and I'm sure Jim could give you some pointers.

Hey ya'll! Thanks so much for the Texas forum! We really appreciate it and we're looking forward to seeing everyone at the dunes soon. I've got many great pictures of our dunes but since I don't know how to post them on this site, e-mail me and I'll send them to anyone who's interested. Again, thanks so much for the recognition. SDBob, thanks for posting the picture and feel free to post some of the other's that I've sent.

Hey, who's our moderator?

What could be lovelier than a full moon (or 3) on a warm dune night, right?

Well Sandy T, I gotta tell you, I have seen some pretty impressive full moons at Glamis. But the most amazing full moon I can remember was on the way home from Lake Tahoe along a snow-filled Highway 80. After hours of bumper-to-bumper traffic, tied up because of impassible passes, several of us girls stepped out of the vehicle to enjoy the, uh, natural surroundings.

One of our group, known for lagging behind (no pun intended), took her time. That is until from over a small rise came a rumbling sound followed by the very bright white light of a LARGE snowmobile sliding quickly down the hill. It was a near miss, and obviously we no longer needed the light of the moon to see our way back to the vehicle.

The look on the driver’s face is one we will never forget and I doubt he’ll every forget his close encounter in the snow.

By the way, her nature walks are much shorter now.

Jim, after carefully checking and rechecking the picture, maybe the "yeller thang" across Sandy T.'s face is really a new style of Texas sunglasses!

Furthermore, judging by the position of those lucky seat belts, I think I know what the "T" stands for!!

(Gulp...I sure hope Texas ladies have a sense of humor!!!)
