Dune Questions

Post by Gottaride »

We are thinking about a trip to the Kermit Dunes and are interested in some information about them. Is there camping allowed right at the dunes? How big is the riding area? Is it all dunes or is there trail riding also? What is the weather like the end of March, beginning of April? Any info would be appreciated.

There is camping allowed at the dunes it's completely primitive and free, there are no hook-ups,water,or bathrooms. There are 4 picinic tables on the circle drive but you have to get there early to get them . March and April are our windy time of year but there are still alot of nice days for riding. The riding area is about 5 square miles and there are trails to ride on.

Thanks for the info. Hmmm, the windy season, I bet that could get really ugly fast. We will let you know when we plan to be there and maybe we can meet up.

Dune Rule #8 - When you hear the RRRR's go up, put your head down and suck in your lips.

Dune Rule #7 - Don't follow to close.

Two cowboys were out on the range. One of the cowboys got off his horse, walked around to the back of his horse, lifted its tail and kissed its butt. The second cowboy asked "What the heck you doing?" The first cowboy says, "I got chapped lips." Second cowboy says, "Oh, does that help heal 'em?" :? First cowboy says, "Well, kinda. It keeps me from lickin 'em."
