this is a prtotype tranny form http://www.otbtech.com/pages/1/index.htm
it is one of nine in use right now. when you buy it it only comes with one gear set. but I think he will have the option of the tree as seen in the pic. all of this fits in the stock case and is actually lighter than the supermaxx version. for more pics check my site outhttp://members.cox.net/sandman4free/
let me know if you have more questions it will be available soon(not allowed to give a release date) there is a video of a tmaxx pulling an s-10 truck with this same tranny if you are interested.

What are the pluses with this tranny besides the metal gears? Does it fit in the stock housing and do you keep reverse etc etc?

it does fit in the stock tranny case with no modification. it is a foreward only conversion but I am guessing a reverse might be added at some point. the plusses are that you can change gear ratios in about 10 minutes and the gearing is nearly infinite with bell and spur combos this tranny can crawl at 5mph or highway speeds past 60mph. the price should be reasonable too for a tranny of this caliber. it might be another couple of monthes before these are available but definately worth it.. stop by this desert season I usually camp with ron scott(lazer star) if ya wanna see it run. and it does run! if I can help with anything else let me know and I will see what I can do to help!

That is a cool video on your site! The sounds of the engine and the suspension working is great. Makes you wish you could survive a jump like that. Nose first into the ground, bounce on the wheels and keep on truckin' 8)

The truck body in the video looks like an early 50's Chevy, is it?

That's a very cool video. Nice control on the jumps. I like having reverse in mine. I'll hook up with you at the dunes, I've been meaning to hook up with ron as well. Here are some clips of my maxx, there's a short video clip in glamis too but it's in quicktime format in case you don't have it. http://homepage.mac.com/chrest/PhotoAlbum21.html

See now Glen wants one.
