WHAT IS THIS FOR?

Post by Sloppyduner »

:?: Last Tuesday I TRIED to find a short cut from the 115 to Dunes Edge, I've since found the route BUT not until we got lost. AND BOY WERE WE LOST!!! We came across this...

Any idea what this fence is for? It looked new, BUT it's on Google Earth too and that's from atleast two years ago.

We found it afterwords at 33 03, 10.47N-115 15'39,94 W On Google Earth.

It has no gates they can close 3-4 pens in it, and razor wire over it. But it has a big opening in it to get in and out. Nothing was in it Tuesday morning when we passed it :?:

You bring up good point B.D. Ya it COULD be for Turtles. It COULD be for Chimps for all I know. I don't know what it is THAT's why I'm asking.

I DON'T THINK it would be for turtles though. Don't they want them to roam free? :?

Yes, but it could have been built to keep them out.

There's a 20 foot opening on one corner of it. So I don't think so. I'm thinking it's either a place to park work vehicles, but what's with no lockable gates? Or a UFO landing station :D

Remember that OLD game show where the panel has a strange object to explain what it is and what it's used for? This, to me, is an object like that. "YA it'd work for this, but that's missing" "Oh it's a...NOPE that can't be"
What ever it is I bet it works REAL well for who/what ever built it. The razor wire justs adds to the mystery.

razor wire only has one purpose - to keep people in or out of something.

Given it's height and the razor wire, I'd say it's meant to be people proof . If it is for work stuff, maybe it's not locked because it's not currently being used. Could have been used for wireless crews and supplies, etc. lots of that kinda work been going on in thedesert over the past few years.

There's another Fenced in Area near the Bombing Target south of Hwy 78. Same Pen layout.
32°56'50.03"N
115°13'55.53"W

There's a Bombing Target west of the Pen you ran across.
