Fishing in the canal at glamis or gordons
4 easters ago i saw 100's of 9 inch catfish in the glamis canal. Somebody left a hook tied to one of the ladders and caught one so I released it. Anyone ever catch fish in the canal by gecko road and if so what kind? Is it legal to fish there with a cali fishing license? How about the canal at Gordons? Any trout or does it get too hot? How about stripers?

Yes you can legally fish in the Coachella and All American Canals with a fishing license. There are catfish, carp and maybe even some Bass, Talapia, and Perch. No Trout, it is too hot. There is also some type of moss/algae eater fish in the All American as I recall.
But, what do I know other than what I hear.... cause I don't fish.

You'll see people (not duners) down at Gordon's fishing all the time. Lots of BIG Carp. Not sure what they do with it after they catch it.

How to prepare Carp:Glamisbound wrote: Lots of BIG Carp. Not sure what they do with it after they catch it.
1. Catch Carp.
2. Gut and Clean fish.
3. Place cleaned fish on a 2" x 6" pine board of comparable length.
4. Position fish and board on the sill of a window with a sunny exposure, allowing fish to age.
5. After 3 days, throw away Carp and eat pine board.
