ORBA, Eco Logic, D-37, ASA and SDORC according to Fred Wiley

Post by tomjeeps2 » Tue Mar 02, 2010 4:50 pm

ORBA, Eco Logic, D-37, ASA and SDORC according to Fred Wiley support S2921, Cal 4X4 went with their memders vote and went against it as written at the last Commission meeting on Feb 25, 2010. The OHMVR Commission took no action and ask Division to ask Feinsiens office to further explain their bill, GOOD FOR THEM YES and nobody found anything in this that's going to counter the Marines expansion plans so we could wind up with both...TJ #-o

S.2921 - A bill to provide for the conservation, enhanced recreation opportunities, and development of renewable energy in the California Desert Conservation Area, to require the Secretary of the Interior to designate certain offices to serve as Renewable Energy Coordination Offices for coordination of Federal permits for renewable energy projects and transmission lines to integrate renewable energy development, and for other purposes.

Remember even if they kept their word on this, they can still vote to take Johnson Valley (or anything else) later on as that action(s) will take place after this one, whatever Congress gives it can take away...TJ

I had the opportunity to experience JV a few weeks back at the King of the Hammers. It would be a big loss to the off-road community if the Marines annex the area. My position is that I do not go along with anything that Sen Feinstein has to do with. Plain and simple. If JV could be taken, anywhere can be taken. Stay organized, don't give an inch, and fight for what you have. The whole community needs to be in unison.

Also remember what your seeing in this bill now is only a snapshot in time, hope ASA is not supporting this just because they see something they like "as written", because bills rarely stay unchanged as they go though the process. There's an unwritten rule in politics which is if you ride someones train and decide you want off, don't complain if they back the train over you, bottom line is it's a Wilderness bill...TJ [-X

I like that It'll take an act of congress to close a riding area not JUST some liberal judge egged on by some green group.
