 Sobe-Bomb or Camp Fire?

Campfire.

 Sun up: iced-tea or beer?

Pepsi.

 Sun down: soda, beer or cocktails?

Pepsi.

 No music or loud music?

Pepsi. And quiet or no music.

 Party Hard or Sun Rise Ride?

Sunrise Ride.

 Dogs: Leashed or Run Free?

Leashed; or, no dogs. :)

 Kids or No Kids?

Don't care; I have a 3yo but she lives with her mom.

 Family or Boys-Trip?

Don't care; I'm nearly single.

 North: Gecko, Osbourne, Glamis Flats, Washes

Don't care. :)

 Sailor Slang or Church Chat [Language choice]?

Huh? ;)

I haven't been yet, am going Dec 24-27... people tell me the place will be dead. If it's that dead, maybe I should go to Hungry Valley instead and hit Glamis another time.

It's going to be "dead" in Glamis terms. There will still be plenty of people out there. If it's on your calendar already I say don't cancel it. The "off weekends" are the best time.

Ok cool. As long as I'm not the only one of like, ten people out there. :)

There will still be one other guy in my group (maybe 2-3 more if the others confirm).

Bringing this back to the top...

Nah, I'm definitely going to Glamis over Christmas. I just ordered my season pass and the big ASA dune flag! Now to figure out how to best display it on my trailer. Heck, we need a miniature version of it to use on our whip poles.

I'm kicking around the idea of Hungry Valley over New Years, but who knows, I might go back to Glamis again... but won't get there til probably late on New Year's Eve. Might have trouble finding a place to park.

You can get a smaller whip flag thru the ASA store, I think they are 10-$15 and red. If you're going to be in G for xmas you may as well stay for new years.

I'd like to; I just started a new job today, so I may be limited in that kind of flexibility. Plus it's hourly (contract). BUT, since I'll have 3G coverage out there, it's feasible that I might be able to work remotely, and even do it after-hours so I can ride during the day. I'll see how this week goes and maybe run the idea past my boss and see. The other guy I'm working with is gonna be back east that whole week, so why not?

In that case I would have to break camp probably once to dump my tanks and refill with water.

With the start of a new dune season upon us it's time to bring this back to life. I've met several great individuals and families directly as a result of this thread.

 Sobe-Bomb or Camp Fire? Campfire - no bombs please. Stories, jokes and laughs are the entertainment.
 Sailor Slang or Church Chat [Language choice]? Please use clean language around the kids and ladies. If it's just the guys I don't care as much.
 Sun up: iced-tea or beer? Coffee, soda, and lots of water.
 Sun down: soda, beer or cocktails? Soda, beer, cocktails, hot cocoa - it's all good. But no need to get plastered.
 No music or loud music? Low music is fine.
 Party Hard or Sun Rise Ride? Mellow party; some rise early, others sleep in.
 Dogs: Leashed or Run Free? Don't have dogs but welcome well behaved ones.
 Kids or No Kids? Couple more months and the younger of my 2 boys will be considered a man! But on any given weekend our camp age might range from the very young to the very gray, but young at heart.
 Family or Boys-Trip? Mostly family, but occasional boys-trip.
 Camp location? Generally deep in the washes, but Gecko works too on off weekends. Haven't camped in the south dunes yet.
 Toys? My family rides quads, as do most we camp with. But bikes, rhinos/razrs, and cars have joined us at various times.
 Riding style? Ranges from slow putts with beginners to hard and fast with the experienced riders. All rides are done follow-the leader style with any off-line riders at the back. Jumps and hill-shots are mixed in as appropriate.
 Other stuff? Leave the dunes and camp areas better than you found them. You'll often find me wandering in and out of camp with a trash bag and grabber in hand. Be a good neighbor - no camp racing, have spotters when you jump, turn the generator off at night and when you're done needing it, etc.

Fatee, welcome to the board.

I'm often the only rail in the group so it would be great to have you join us on at least our annual Monster Ride or ASA weekend.

Yup, three little ones...4, 7, 9...

I camp with the ASA guys here at least two times a year...for the Monster Ride (12/31 this year I think) and the ASA weekend (3/25 weekend)... http://www.americansandassociation.org/ ... 90&t=26288 ...

Couple trips I camp with my regular Glamis crew...usually 4 to 8 rigs...mostly quads, SXS, and bikes though. I often find myself the only rail, which sucks sometimes.

Then I'll do at least 5 trips to the hard pack like Ocotillo Wells, Superstition Mountain or Johnson Valley etc.

Hi, I'm new here...hope I did this right!

 Sobe-Bomb or Camp Fire? Camp Fire
 Sun up: iced-tea or beer? Whatever, I just don't need a drunk fest.
 Sun down: soda, beer or cocktails? Whatever, I like both
 No music or loud music? I love music!
 Party Hard or Sun Rise Ride? I like to ride...
 Dogs: Leashed or Run Free? Run free if they're cool.
 Kids or No Kids? I don't mind them but I don't have any.
 Family or Boys-Trip? Either...if the boys will let me tag along
 North: Gecko, Osbourne, Glamis Flats, Washes - Wherever the dunes are, but I'm used to the washes or Gecko
 South: Ogilby, Buttercup, Midway, Dune Buggy Flats (Gordon's)
 Sailor Slang or Church Chat [Language choice]? I might be more of a sailor :|

Basically, I'm just a girl that wants to ride her Banshee. I have been going to Glamis since I was a child, the people I used to go out with are all having kids or doing different things. My boyfriend isnt really into riding so I'm on my own. I'm 39, easy going, no kids and can ride.

Wife and I are in our 40's, our two boys are in high school. All of us ride quads.
Circling the wagons in the washes is our preference.

Is this still an active post? I am looking for a group to camp with now that my kids are getting a little bit older. Will take the "test" and see what I can find out there.

Our next trip to the Glamis is Jan 27 to 29. This is our second season going to the dunes. We have two rides, a rail and the wife just got a rzr 900. We are pretty low key, just looking for friendly people to ride with and sit by the campfire.

I joined ASA about 2 years ago, trying to get set up for retirement and a good conection to meet people to dune with. Im now retired and rebuilt my rail during the last 18 months and have been in the process of building a Mike Mazzone car that I purchased from him before he went out of business, and has sadly passed away.
We are now starting to do dune trips and thought I would check here to see if we could meet up with others like ourselves and see that most post are years old. Has this forum Died?
Just wanted to see if anyone is alive out there before posting about setting up any dune trips. If not, anyone know of any other forums to set up dune trips?
Looking forward to hearing from anyone.

Sadly, traffic on this forum has pretty much dropped to zero. Most of our online activity now takes place on Facebook, where we have both an official page, and a group page.
