Ya know what put me in the maybe section for ALL of em. If I can get the Ody in the Dodge, As long as the lows arent above 85 (we got lucky last year) , and I have the gas cash I'll do my best to get down there. Ain't noth'n like a night run. I'm NOT leading in my Ody!!! [-( [-X [-(

I am going to try to make at least one of these, especially seeing as how the quad is all setup for night rides now.

Well, it works like this.... Night Rides are the best when there's a full moon... I'm at work Mon~Fri, so I can only take a trip like this on Saturday nights... it's too hot to be there before the sun sets... and it's too hot be be there too long after the sun comes up.
So, when the full moon in June 2007 is on the 30th, deductive resoning arrives at:
Schedule:
Arrive Jun30 at 10:00p
Depart Jul01 at 9:00am <or when it gets too hot to bare>

So, can you go!? :P

June is still great weather for day rides as well! That is what water cooling is for! The sand is perfect the end of May through mid June!

Of course there isn't many things better than riding until dawn in t-shirts and shorts!

Rookie. You want to go riding you go riding. You need a new quad you get a new quad. the wife don't like it? Ehh so what. Washroad and myself should start a duners with wifes class to help you guys get out of the house. He'll teach the taking your wife with you approach. I'll teach the leave her at home method.

Sure I missed out on last nights ride because I didn't have a quad. Now I have a quad lined up and I WON'T miss the next night ride.

Congratulations on your recent acquisition! It'll be nice to have another ring-dinger on the Night Rides. Albeit, proud to say that mine was the only two-stroke in the pack of seven quads last weekend. 8)

If the MH thing pans out, I'll be there. Maybe be there anyway, I'm a "maybe" right at the moment.

However I will be meeting with Wash and Bhenry this weekend, and they will probably grind me. :D

Very sweet, if it happens I'll probably be out Friday. Do a bit of preplaning. Then veg out in the MH, play with the radios, blast obnoxous tunes.

That's pretty much what I have done with my buddies previous summers. One of us brings the trailer/MH and we get there in the middle of the day on saturday. Have some lunch while we wait for it to cool down. Start riding around dusk and just go till we're too tired to go anymore. Usually about 5-6 in the morning. Turn the A/C on, crash for a couple 3-4 hours and then drive home sunday around noon. Stop for lunch in El Centro and it makes for a nice little get away. Excellent picture taking opportunities too as there are no tracks.

No Sloppy, you are not allowed to go out on your own. There will not be anyone there to make sure you take your medication...

You need to make sure that you are accompanied by an adult and that your wife signs your permission slip before you can go on the field trip...

hey all. i have never been on an asa night ride trip. i would love to attend, but still unsure of the work schedule. will see how that pans out.

i have only been serious duning for 1 year, and im an ok rider. im not scared to try, but i know my limitations of riding abilities, and i ride within them. i would be riding my raptor 700r. what skill level riders are you guys looking for, to attend the ride. i would hate to slow anyone down in a group this large..

i wont need anyone to hold my hand, cause i can ride, i just cant keep up with everyone if they are 5th gear pinned all the time.

thanks - kevin

Come on out Kevin you couldn't suck more than me.

I've written posts like that wondering if I should go or not. I always got home safely, and most the time I had fun.

I say Kevin Scotty and I should go out THIS weekend. You know just to get the feel for it

I WANNA RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know FOR SURE I'll be going up to Hesperia to ride at my friends place BUT I COULD also turn it into an El Mirage trip. Or we can get a dozen or so people up to my friends 3 acres and REALLY annoy the neighbors. \:D/

I want to come annoy neighbors Slop...

Hey Kevin, don't worry about holding anyone back. We always ride to the abilities of the group, and you wont hold anyone back at all. Riding is riding, no matter how you slice it, and we always have fun.

DunePrincess and I really want to go, and we are trying to make it happen. If thats the case, I will have to spend extra time with her anyways, since she has not really ridden at night, and this is her first season (3 weekends of riding total). Plus, she has already had an accident and she is timid much of the time.

I need her to ride with Uncle Bill... he is a great teacher!!!

thanks guys. im gonna try for it. my work schedule is crazy as all hell. unless its a planned vacation, and those are all but locked up this year, i.e., thanksgiving in ocotillo, new years the same, presidents, (come and gone) and a couple others, its hit and miss for me.

i'm a lineman, and i work for so cal edison, and as you can imagine, with summer coming up, the heat, well, you all know what happened last summer!

im headed to pismo the week after the fourth of july on a planned trip, so an impromptu trip, amy be just the sure in between!

i will check back here and see how it goes.

couple questions, do you all ride all night long, or is it a couple hour ride, back to camp to drink some beers, and sleep, or what? if i make it, i would probably head out late fri eve, or eeeaarrlly sat morn and do some day riding as well. gotta get the dune fixx

thanks again for the encouragement

Kevin,
We'd love to have you join us.
The nights are pretty easy going. The group usually take one or two 'around the world' rides, stopping every half hour or so to rest, take it easy, etc.
And then there's the quick little rides that most / but not always all go on.
The rides at night is really pretty mellow. My 250R is usually in 3rd gear the whole time, bouncing into 4th once in a rare while.
Between rides, we all kick back in 'camp', chug water, coffee or what ever. Some nap a bit, some don't. Unless you're a night-owl you end up being pretty tired by the time the sun comes up. So, if drinking a beer hits you a little drowsy like it does me, maybe you'll pass like I do. I opt for all the caffeine I can get my hands on instead to stay  wired!

Have you seen my Jun02 Night Ride Trip photo album yet? While it's ride to take a picture while on a ride, you might get the illusion that we just sit around and sleep the whole time. Read the captions too, it might give a better idea of what you can expect.
