For those that need some additional info here...

Turns out, the driver of the truck pulling this trailer had a little mis-hap in Ocotillo on the way out to Glamis. It happened while going over the brige at the Blue Inn.


Yep, it seems the trailer came off of the ball hitch and slid to a stop behind the truck. But not before the trailer slammed into the back of the truck. Check out the damaged wood... this was the point of impact. Surprised the driver, I'm sure!!


Oh, and the driver, was Mr. Bill with Sandcock in the passenger seat!

Woody is correct. No can go. Mama is now a stay at home mom. It is a big adjustment financially. Also, we have to go to my folks house in Fresno that weekend. My sister is having a wedding shower up there.

I am glad you guys want me there. Shows the true friendship, I dont have too many in my life like that anymore. I really wish I could go. If some miracle happens and a bunch of extra cash comes our way, then Maybe. The problem is Maria and I (mostly Maria)have been tied to the house since Jonah was born and it would probably be best for my marriage to take her out for dinner and some form of entertainment(ie: movie) instead of going to the dunes. I had to finally grow up and start prioritizing. IF I can swing it in Sept I will, but for now I wouldnt hold my breath.

Thats all I can say at this point.

Something to consider, it's a lot less time and money to do a night ride trip than it is to be out there for a whole weekend once the season starts.

It'll be easy. Come home from the meeting at +/-1:00p, load the truck / trailer, take a nap, leave for Glamis at +/-4:30p.

Hey, Jason is coming out for this one too. He, Joey, and I may be hanging back a little, riding around and trying to get used to some new mods. Jasons quad is a monster, and he has not riden it in the dunes very much. Joey and I just put on twist throttles, and we think we are going to need some practice with them before we can go balls out.

Expect us to create or stick with a slower group, at least for the first part of the night. Sloppy, its good to hear that you may be joining us again!!! By the way, I bought that bolt for you for your engine mount. I will bring it out with me and hope you can make it. Glenn, I hope you come, it would be good to meet you.

Well since I've been up all night for the last three nights, I have a quad, Jason is going, gas is 2.63 a gallon, and there is talk of a slower group, I'm 90% there.

Ya it works out like that on paper. IF I'm sleeping late and naturaly getting tired around 3:00AM I think it'll be best to keep that scedule for the night ride. I need all the help I can get.

I'm not going to the BoD meeting. I am though 99% sure at this point that I will make the night ride. Still undecided on whether to just drive the Jeep out or load it on the trailer.

This will be more of a social call for me than a dune trip. With all quads and very soft Summer sand, I won't be duning the Jeep much. Especially if I end up driving it out there. Gotta be able to drive it home when I'm ready.

I would be going to the BoD meeting as well, but school starts this week, and the only way my schedule works is if I take one of my classes on Saturday. It sucks, but you have to make some sacrifices in order to get that degree done, you know what I mean?

Looking forward to seeing everyone. To bad Sandcock and GLF are going to miss this trip. I need more mentoring from Sandcock, and some goof around time with GLF.

I haven't seen the north dunes, but I've been driving I8 everyday through the south dunes and they are all ridges and razors!! Going to be lots of witches eyes.

Jon, you need to pump up the tires a lot more if you want it to float properly. Just having 3-4lbs pressure isn't enough. You need to pump them up to about 20lbs (as if you were trying to seat a bead), then you might have enough for the quad to float. Also, you might try putting an inflatable raft under it, just for extra insurance. Maybe build a fiberglass boat body around it and seal it good, sorta like an amphibian. I know you have plenty of time to do this.

You, on the other hand, better know how to swim!

Glamis was steamy and critterful. Good times, great people and virgin sand.

OUUCH!!! That was fun. Fast rides(for me), some putts, it was all there. Friends I don't get to see that often, friends I see just about every time I go out. About the only thing that could have been better was the humidity. Brandon bought his trailer so the A/C was great to dry off in. I wonder if we would have been any less wet if there was a steady rain.

I have never seen so many critters. Sure the usual Hawks, "stink bugs", and lizards, but an 18 inch Side Winder on Olds Road deserved a turn around. I got the crap scared out of me by a jack rabbit with ears so big I thought it was somebodys legs running thru the bushes. The Yuki found a toad in camp. It lived. They all did. WE all did. I had FUN!!! Thanks for the good times guys.

Ya I missed out on the open BoD meeting but Mike and Robert filled everybody in. It was great hearing ALL the goings on with the dunes, while AT the dunes.

Would've loved to stop by however saturday morning while chasing mike330r and crew I tried to pass jchappy's obnoxious paddles and ended up up flying off a dune, having the quad roll on top of me, back on all 4s, I bailed and rolled and slid on my belly to a stop.

May have broken my wrist, minor concussion is almost for sure (bloody nose and temporary loss vision despite nose guard that showed no signs of impact) I also may have torn muscles in my shoulder and neck (and my daily activities are only making them worse).

Next trip is in september for us, I sense I will be in the rhino and mooching rides in rails due to the injuries. I may be a the glamis dunes compound right near you guys so there shouldn't be any further excuses

I heard that nrp chased the quad for a bit after he slid on his belly.

He then rode his bike back to pad 3. Did a 2 handed clutch manuever then power shifted the rest of way back to camp.
