I'll be cooking lunch for all who join us.
I'll be arriving Thursday night so I can get the meat started. I'll start with some Brisket which will take 16+ hours. About 4 hours later, I'll throw on the Pork and cook it 10-14 hours. Last I'll throw on some chicken and cook it for about 4 hours.
Of course there will be a mess of Papa Perry's Poppers. Some of Julzie's homemade potato salad and corn on the cob.
If you have ever eaten at one of my cookouts, you know it will be good. I don't usually do a true BBQ, but this is a special event.
People cleaning Glamis at the end of the season deserve something special.
Don't forget the horseshoe tournament after the BBQ.

Oh man that sounds good Papa. I'm trying hard to make that weekend but it doesn't look good as I'll most likely have to work. You ever send home "doggie bags"???

Have a good time at the cleanup all....if you can make it, go! I have tasted Papa Perry's preparations and it's worth the trip all by itself; never mind the comraderie, meeting new people, doing some cleanup which is a good thing anytime, and of course, you are there, in the sand, with other great people, fellow enthusiasts; what could be better? listen to me yappin, and I'm 1000+ miles away

Keep your hands clean...norocksplease wrote:I'll be on the catering staff

One time, a dude that was camping with me asked if I wanted a "Turkey Burger" we have plenty he told me...
Anyway, he 'cleaned' his hands with a hand sanitizer... and didn't do anything else before he...then he grabbed a ball of turkey meat and made a patty, and then another and another... he threw some spices on the meat...
I walked over and asked if I could add 'more' special spices, and squirted a glob of hand sanitizer right on one of the patties...
"Hey..WHAT ARE YOU DOING...?"

Sometimes he didn't have all his oars in the water at the same time...

J/K Marcus is neurotic about that as am I. I make sure all of the peeps helping, wash their hands and wear food handling gloves.
I'll start posting all of our other events here if you'd like Steve, we have some fun ones.OBSESSED wrote:So, why don't you post all the happenings planned for those of us that do not go to Glamis Dunes.com???
