You had it like this:

see the missing "a" in american?
see the space between .jpg and [/img]?

I just fixed those and made it look like this:

Jerry,
To [finally] answer your question in regards to rig-counts, here's my take:

(4) Woodglue [including possibly +3 rigs]
(1) DuneRookie
(1) Glamisbound
(1) Washroad
(1) gelwell
(1) the_fog
(0) JaketheRake
(1) redrider & Bev
(1) alyshka
(3) GlamisLovingFool [+2 rigs]
Total: 14 rigs to date
If I have anyone’s rig-counts wrong, let me know.

Wash 16 is a huge wash! So there will be plenty of space for even 50 rigs. The problem comes into play with the closeness of all of us friends in our circle. We reach a point where the group camped outside of our circle, near ours is closer than the other people in our circle.

Just for fun:
Let's say the average rig is 50' long, and lets place 10' of space in front of each rig. This means the average rig will need 60' of space on the edge of this circle. 14 rigs at 60' each means we need a circumference of 840'.

Circumference = pi x Diameter
C = pi x D
840' = 3.14 x D
840' / 3.14 = D
D = 840' / 3.14
D= 267'
Our circle of 14 rigs, 840' nose-to-toe, needs a diameter of 267' or a radius of 133'. So, from door of your rig, to the door of the rig across from you will be 267' :arrow: 89% of a football field length.

Big eh? :lol:
Image

But ignore all that, because:
:arrow: To help reduce the circle size, GLF and I will keep our rigs on the circle, but we will take our additional rigs and create a sub-circle behind our rigs. Doing so will pull 5 rigs out of the circumference, and proportionally reduce our diameter to 172'.

So, the way things sit today, we need a circle diameter of +/-172'. :wink:

Also, if you have an ASA Camp Flag or an ASA Banner... bring it! Even if you dont have a pole or means to hang it, we'll get it hung someplace. :wink:

Our friend Neil Hamada [BLM ISDRA Manager] might stop by to say hello. As such, mind your dogs on leashes, glass bottles, permits, etc.

And, fair warning if your dog isn't leashed and it runs up to the leashed Rotty that we're bringing. She'll get it, and she'll get it good. :lol:

Thanks Woodie for the answer....that's more less what I was looking for. I don't have an ASA flag yet but I'll have an American flag flying with a Speed Channel flag below it. I'll keep my truck in 2wd and get a spot deep but not too far in. Dinner's ready...gotta roll!!

Mike, I've got at least two more, maybe three more rigs coming :shock: I wasn't kidding when I suggested a clover. We'll have groups within the big group. Smaller groups set up in a horse shoe pattern, open end toward the main camp circle...make sense?

Any buggies going?????????????? [-o<

Mike:

We will probably have an additional 3 rigs from our group wanting to come. Dunerookie ghetto camps so he is only going to need about 15'.

GB, a clover leaf would work....but who is going to our traffic manager who will make sure it happens?

GLF, GB and Myself all have multiple rigs attending. So, I guess each of us could be a leaf in this clover-leaf layout eh? I'm thinking a 100' opening between the clover-camp and the main 'circle'.

Would that work?

GB, I think Jerry is bringing his rail. But I'm not certain.

As for DuneRookie's 15' "Rig", I was couning on guys like that when I figured the Average Rig length of 50'. Someone has to make up for Glamisbound's 65' rig. :lol:

Cluster Camp in the making, I like that. Sounds like our NY trip 2 years ago! We showed up late (along with a few others) and started the "outer circle". As long as everyone's there, it no matter.

Just looked at the calendar, only 3 weeks before I leave! WOO HOO! Then again, that makes the need to finish the bathroom remodel this weekend that much more important!

Gotta go, lots to do and so little time!

I dunno. I've seen and been a ghetto camper for most all my duning life. I guess it all depends on your idea of "best" and "Ghetto". I think Aly is bout the most elaborate Ghetto rig I've seen. Jake Tee Rakes "rig", on the other hand, takes the prize for budget. Sleeping bag on a trailer. No tarp, no nothing! Now that Ghetto. Heck thats hardcore homeless ghetto. I think we should pitch in and buy that boy a tent. :wink:

OK, so we have a plan, A clover leaf pattern it is!
If we have more than one or two rigs in your 'group' joining the camp, set up a leaf. Right now, it looks like that will be me, GLF, GB, and the gelwell/DuneRookie camp.
For optimim socialability skills for all of us, please keep your Clover Leaf Camp ppen to the camp circle with a width of 50' or 75'.
All other single camp people can make a circle linking all the Clover Leaf Camps together.

No problem, right guys?
It that clear enough?
Or maybe it's clear as mud, and you would you like a drawing?

Four leaf for good luck!

BTW, I camped with 17 rigs at Superstition this weekend. It was a big circle but not too bad.

Had a great three days, aside from ripping my right front wheel off my buggy after hitting a wash at 30mph (I was just cruisin).

Nobody hurt...it's all good.

I know!! I know!!

Here's our situation.....if we're going, it's going to be a girls weekend!! The men and kids are staying home! yeehaw!

Now about where we're going to camp, it's going to be a majority vote. I've told the girls about wash 16.....we'll have to see what the next week brings.

I did not count the dunerookie in my count. He is his own man -well sometimes.

So is the campfire going to be at the center of the clover?

AF04, keep us posted on what the girlz would like to do. If you camp with us, we'll give you your own leaf of the clover. 8)

gelwell, the camp fire will be in the middle of the circle. Optimum social ability skills call for no clover-leaf camp fires. [-(

Make it 5. Since I have a smaller set up than most I can slip in somewhere. Just need enough room for mi casa. 8)

If we make it out at all that weekend, we'll have at the very most 2 5th wheels, or it just may be mine with all of us living out of it. We won't take up much space and I can't imagine us being too rowdy! :-^

:lol: :lol: :lol:

Seriously, I've often wondered on a clay-ride... standing on the foot-pegs and accellerating up a hill:
:idea: Man, that might hurt if my hands slipped off these bars right now.

Seriously though, Clay leads on his big, heavy, 4-stroker. Following him on my 250R-TRX isn't an issue of speed or traction as much as Hang Time :shock:

Going fast in the dunes is easy for me, But when Clay hits a little jump during the run, he might fly 20' or so on that heavy quad. Meanwhile, my lil ole 250R flies over his marks nearly every time [if I don't slow down before the lip] much to my dismay! :shock:
Pucker Factor! :shock:

I don't know if I want to have a jump off. I do enough stupid stuff without any motivation to go big.

I will be camping somewhere on Gecko March 14-20. How long would it take me to ride a quad over to your camp at wash 16?

Depending on how fast you ride I would say around 30 minutes cruising.

OK, thanks. So, I'll be looking for a camp with about 25 rigs and a helicopter pad in the middle, correct? :lol:

Foggy what do you say you lead the morning ride and I do the afternoon :?:

Jake is your avatar the jumps you were doing at Mexican Bowl on the Monster Ride? Between you and your Dad I dont think we need the extra motivation.

Gene it's all good, I go both ways, lead, or follow. Get your head out of the gutter.
