##Our 2009 / 2010 Dune Trip Plans##

Post by Woodglue »

For the past three seasons, we've been organizing a series of Dune Trip Threads to help keep everyone posted of when our various Dune Trips are planned so that we could arrange for individual day-rides, or so that we could just shake each others hands in the sand!

Just like Grandma tries to get all the kids together for the Holiday's, we're looking to get this started again. A series of threads has been set up, one for each month of the 2009 / 2010 Dune Season [Oct ~ May]. Just click the links.
 ##October 2009 Dune Trip Plans##
 ##November 2009 Dune Trip Plans##
 ##December 2009 Dune Trip Plans##
 ##January 2010 Dune Trip Plans##
 ##February 2010 Dune Trip Plans##
 ##March 2010 Dune Trip Plans##
 ##April 2010 Dune Trip Plans##
 ##May 2009 Dune Trip Plans##

Here's how it works!
Be it Glamis, Buttercup, Dumont, Pismo... or whatever other dune place, Holler up with your Dune Trip Plans in the applicable month's thread. Include your dates along with where you'll be [for example: Glamis, Wash 10. Oct31~Nov02].
GlamisSandDuner will then incorporate your Dune Trip Plan into the schedule at the top of that thread.

Want a Clickable name to include your Rig Pic?
If you'd like to have a pic of your rig linked to your User Name in the schedule, just e-mail it to GlamisSandDuner and he'll set it up. It would work like this:

We will not be using rig pics from past years, so you will need to resend them to me for this year's use.

Got Current Events?
We'll post them in these treads too. Just holler up with what is, where it's at, and provide a weblink.

So, take a look and if you'd like, chime in with your plans!

Have a Safe & Fun 2009 / 2010 Dune Season!

I can do that. As I assume you're talking about the month of November, you'll find it in that thread.

With our dune season over (excluding summer night ride trips), I now have my final numbers for the season:
Glamis Trips:
Oct02~04
Oct23~25
Nov24~30
Dec27~Jan03
Feb05~07
Feb26~28
Mar12~14
Apr01~04

It was our slowest season since about 2005. Normally, we have 11 or 12 trips a year.

For a total of 26 nights on 8 trips in just less than 27 weeks, burning 479.07 gallons of fuel in the truck, and 140 gallons in the bikes & generators. 10 quarts of YamaLube 2R, 32 gallons of propane, and $176.00 spent on fast food in Brawley.

Season Pass was $90.00 which came out to $3.47 per night camped (and I'll still use it on Night Rides this summer). (COMPLAIN all you want about a $90.00 permit... it doesn't get much cheaper than this!!!)

Total investment of only fuels, fast-food and permit... = $2,294.79, or $368.35 per month, or $286.84 per trip or $88.26 pert night.

This does not include Truck/Quad/trailer Maint, Insurance, Registrations, my new Drivers License, Groceries that we don't normally buy, riding gear or firewood.

This is money that is spent solely on getting to and from and being at Glamis.

This will be included in my letter to the BLM commenting on the Draft Economic Impact Statement.
