Hey... anything going on yet with regards to the New Years' Trip? I am currently hoping to make it down there for New Years again this year.... probably arriving the Weds or Thurs before, and I may stay until sometime the middle of the following week.

At least that's the plan right now. :)

Hey guys!

Unless something goes awry, I should be back in the area on Dec 1st. I still plan to get to the Washes on the 29th (late afternoon), but will probably only stay til Jan 2nd or 3rd. I'd like to join everybody in Wash 24 if there's room. I have no idea at this point if anybody will join me (e.g. Chuck and Doug). :)

Rob,
Just looking from the outside in...
Unless I'm mistaken, the last time the group saw you in Wash 24 you got upset on rides with the them, you left early, mad and without saying goodbye. Now you're wanting to camp with them again? :?
Those are the nicest guys I know, and yes they WILL take you in again, but I implore that if you do, to just go with the flow.

Ummmm........

I left early because there was a storm coming, I was stuck, and my quad had taken a crap again and I was in a bad mood because of it. I dunno if you remember, but it took me until after noon that day to even get out of there, having to arrange somebody to pull me out. As luck DID work out, the storm didn't hit until minutes after I pulled onto the road from the store parking lot, having aired all twelve tires back up.

What did I get upset about on rides with them? I remember going back to camp early one evening because all anybody was doing was sitting at the top of China Wall (or whatever hill it was we were at), and I wanted to ride.

I'm sorry if anybody took any of the above in a bad way. Maybe I should just stay home.

Yes, you split off from the group-ride and rode back to camp alone.
Not safe.
You left (the ride AND the trip) with the impression that you were upset.
Rob.G wrote: Maybe I should just stay home.
I'm sure that those in the Wash24 camp circle will tell you that there is no need to stay home. But I would invite you to just go with the flow a little more than you did on that last trip.
Remember, you are joining their trip. They are not joining yours.

Um, yeah I realize it's their trip. :)

But I'm still confused... Which group ride did I split off of? Was it the Big Ride? If I split off, there would have been a good reason. I'm trying to remember the specifics of it all. I know I split a CV boot, so I couldn't really continue without risking destroying the joint. I've done many group rides and I know it's not good practice to split off.

I did want to say goodbye when I left, but after getting pulled out (was anybody around to see that? it was pretty impressive), the guy drive my rig to the wash road and I followed in his, so I didn't really get a chance to say anything to anybody. I think you guys had gotten back from your morning ride either right before or right after I got unstuck, I don't remember.

Rob
If I remember right, One was when the guy with the DS 650 was having problems. AND I THINK MAYBE another time when Georges pipe was giving birth, But that could have been GSL and his Father-in-law leaving but they left together. I remember A few people bailing on that ride, myself included, but I left with Clay and Payton.

I remember your truck/5er getting stuck. I have this pic.
RobC.jpg
I do have a video on another drive of your truck getting towed out of camp and you behind it in the guys truck. As I remember there were not many people in camp. Once I find the video I'll post it.

F-Bob and family Jan 1 - Jan 5 - W22 if we can find a spot, 23 or 24 otherwise. Hope to get a chacne to come say hi Woody!

Hahaha cool pic! Would love to see the video when you find it.

So... I'm currently debating if I'm gonna go on this trip at all. Things have gotten in the way of arriving in time for the Monster Ride tomorrow. Best I'll do is show up around lunchtime to early afternoon tomorrow.

What's camp like? Is there enough room to maneuver and get in there to park with you guys? I'm gonna be timid of the sand and getting stuck again. :)

Rob, my Verizon coverage on my phone down at Wash 24 was very poor at best, which made checking posts on this BBS extremely challenging let alone trying to actually post a response. Sorry we missed you but there is still a lot of time left in the season
