limiting bandwith, without a server

Post by norocksplease »

I have a 1.5 mb connection, and everything load nicely until my roommate comes home then it can take up to a minute to load this forum  What on earth he is downloading I do not know but I'm going to put an end to this madness.

I don't have a server and I just want to cap this guys bandwith over a wireless connection. I have a linksys router.

Yes I'm sure no one else is using the connection.

Depending on which Linksys router you have you can go into the setup and set the QOS priority of the port you are on to high and all other ports to low. I have two teenage Sons and I had to do this to get any bandwidth at all.
